How well is the kennel insulated?

The Thermokennel has the equivalent to the NZBC  R2.8 insulation rating. This equates to the insulation level required of a modern home. The 90mm gap is filled with 100mm of 100% NZ Wool.

Do you sell the kennel in multiples e.g. two bays, 4 bay or 6 bay kennel with run?

The way the Thermokennel and the Aurora Run are engineered and manufactured means they are optimised as a single assembly. If you want to order a multibay setup reach out for a chat, we will be happy to help. support@kelvin.dog

Can you clean the kennel out with a hose?

Yes, the simplest way to hose the Thermokennel out is by removing the screws that hold the assembly together and take the shells off the base. 

How heavy is the Kennel & the Run?

The Thermokennel weighs 30kg fully assembled and the Aurora Run is 30kg fully assembled. They are designed to disassemble easily into lighter weight parts. 

Has the wool insulation come from our own farm Kintyre Downs?

No, but hopefully one day!

Can the dogs chew the kennel?

The kennel hasn’t been fully tested by a chewing chewer, so will never say never at this point. But…. We have thought about this and if you think your dog may have a shot at this, we offer a anti chew kit, to fix around the outside of the door. This will eliminate any temptation. 

Is there any risk of condensation build up?

The insulating effect of the Thermokennel mitigates condensation build up in the kennel.

Can the kennels get too hot in the summer?

The Thermokennel's insulation works in both summer and winter.  However a dog emits heat and so we recommend in summer that the door flapkit that comes with your kennel is removed. 

Do you sell a smaller size?

Not yet. One step at a time for now, but yes hopefully in the future we will.
